This afternoon we have been exploring floating and sinking. We selected a range of different objects and talked about whether we thought they would float or sink. We then had a turn at testing different objects in our water, we really enjoyed watching the chalk dissolve in the water.

We have had another jam packed week of home learning this week, looking at rhymes and riddles. The children have completed different activities around different nursery rhymes, can you guess which ones we looked at? The children also had a go at writing their own riddles. Well one everybody! dav

We have had another busy week in our virtual reception class, with lots of fun activities happening! We have used household items to create different modes of transport. We have been learning about rhyme through podcasts. dav We learned about VE Day and created our own Union Jack flags.
This afternoon we recreated a popular TikTok dance, we had great fun!
This week Reception Class have been learning all about pirates. Our activities included making a treasure maps, making telescopes and pirate hats and exploring floating and sinking too. Well done to everyone that has had a go!
As part of our Chinese New Year experience, Reception Class have been trying some of the Chinese cuisine. Chinese cuisine is an important part of Chinese culture, which includes cuisine originating from the diverse regions of China, as well as from Chinese people in other parts of the world. We re-told the story of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears during our welly walk. The children acted out different parts, using some of the vocabulary from the story. When we had finished, we enjoyed using the climbing and balancing equipment on the KS2 yard.
