Our Wonderful Partnership with St James’ Church

At Darwen St James, we are incredibly proud of the flourishing relationship we share with St James’ over Darwen Church. For us, this isn't just a formal link; it’s the heartbeat of our school community, providing a sense of belonging for our pupils, staff, and families alike.

Faith in Action

Our spiritual life is enriched every week when Rev Kev joins us in school to deliver worship. The children always look forward to his visits—his Worships are engaging, thoughtful, and a brilliant way for us to reflect on our values together.

Beyond our school halls, we regularly walk up to the church as a whole school. Whether it’s for Communion or our big seasonal celebrations, seeing the church filled with our children’s voices is always a highlight of the term.

More Than Just Sunday Service

What makes our connection truly special is how it extends into the wider community. There is always something happening that brings us all together:

  • Community Spirit: From coffee mornings to seasonal fairs, our staff and families are always well-represented.

  • Minecraft Church: A firm favourite! This modern twist on fellowship is a fantastic way for our tech-savvy pupils and their families to engage with the church in a fun, creative environment.

  • Family Events: There is a genuine "open door" feel, ensuring everyone feels welcome, regardless of their background.

We feel very lucky to have such a supportive, active parish behind us. It really does take a village (or a parish!) to raise a child, and our bond with St James’ Church ensures our children grow up surrounded by care, faith, and friendship.
