2’s Room - Exploring
This week in Nursery, we have been having lots of fun painting, creating, looking at books, making loud and quiet sounds with the instruments and singing lots of songs together.
Y2 - Science - Animals Including Humans.
Y2 started our new topic 'Animals including humans' in Science by sequencing the life cycle of different animals - a chick, butterfly, frog and newt.
Reception Class - English Experience Day
This afternoon Reception watched a video of the Red Arrows as part of our experience day for Pigs Might Fly. We then explored flight by making our own paper aeroplanes and testing how well they flew.
Year 2 - English ‘Shape Days’
Year 2 will be completing a non-fiction piece of writing over the next few weeks based on the story ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’. To begin this unit we have completed 2 ‘shape days’ where we have been looking at our new shape vocabulary that will help us with our writing; see if your child can remember any of the shapes we have learned.
Year 1 PE - Football Invasion Skills
Year 1 thoroughly enjoyed their first invasion skills lesson with Tom from Progressive Sports today. This half term we are learning football skills.
Year 5 PE - Football Skills
We began our football topic in PE with Tom from Progressive Sports. This week we practiced the skill of dribbling, applying the transferable skills of control, decision making and spatial awareness.
Year 5 - Timeline
We have had a very busy week, starting our new topic in English, we also created timelines of significant Kings and Queens in English. The children found this tricky but really tried hard to apply their growth mindsets.
Year 1 - Music - Keyboards
Year 1 have started their keyboard lessons this week with Miss McDonald from Junior Jam. They have been exploring the different keys.
Y2 Science - Everyday Materials
We completed our final Science investigation for our topic 'Everyday Materials' last week. We tested glass, plastic, foil, wood and paper to see which was the best at letting light through. We found that glass let lots of light through, plastic and paper let some light through and foil and wood didn't let any light through. We sent our findings to a scientist to let him know that glass is the best material for his new windscreen in his racing car as it let the most light through.
Christmas Fayre
December 2nd 2022 saw our annual Christmas Fayre. Lots of fun was had by both parents and children at our many different stalls. We even had a special visit from Father Christmas who spent lots of time hearing what presents the children would like for Christmas. Thank you to everyone who came and supported us. All together we raised a brilliant £726.94.
Y6 - UK Parliament Day
Year 6 are enjoying the start of our UK Parliament Day by learning all about Parliament while playing a board game!
Children in Need 'The Great Spotacular'
Friday 18th November we held our fundraiser 'The Great Spotacular' for Children in Need. This year to fit the theme we asked the children to wear spots or bright colours for our non uniform day. Our class competition was to guess 'How Many Spots there were on Pudsey.' Nursery's competition was to design a new eye patch for Pudsey Bear. Well done to the winners in each class. Thank you for all your support we have raised £145.55
