Year 3 - R.E. The Festival of Sukkot
In their R.E. lesson, Year 3 has been learning about the Jewish Festival of Sukkot. Some of the class collected sticks and leaves to build their own Sukkah. This is a special shelter built for the week-long festival, that will be used for sleeping in, praying in and for sharing special meals and stories with their family.
Year 1 RE - Sukkot; The Jewish Harvest.
In RE, Year 1 have been learning all about Harvest. They have also been learning about the Jewish Harvest week called Sukkot. During Sukkot, they build a dwelling called a Sukkah and it is decorated with special plants and fruits. As a class we built our own Sukkah and some even got to sit in it!
Reception RE: Learning About Muslim Prayer
For our RE topic on prayer, the children learnt about Muslim prayer and the actions that are important to make during the times of prayer. Miss Dalal helped the class to say the names of each action and perform the action correctly.
Year 2 RE: God's Big Story
In RE, Year 2 has been learning about the Bible. Today they learnt that although it is made up of lots of books, it makes up one big story altogether. They then chose their favourite story from the Bible. Some liked the stories of Daniel and David being brave, and others liked the stories with Jesus in.

Reception RE: Learning About When We Can Pray.
Reception are learning about prayer in RE and this week we acted out the story of Daniel in the lions' den. They learnt that God protected Daniel when he was scared because he followed his ways. We thought about times we might be scared and how we can pray to God for help.
Preschool- R.E-Creation with Jack The Bear
In R.E this week Jack the bear has taught Preschool all about God's Creation story, We looked at each day and what God created on that day.
Reception RE: What is Prayer?
Reception class explored the "Chatterbox" with lots of items connected to prayer. They learnt that prayer is talking to God, a bit like using a phone or writing letters to our special friends. They discovered prayer beads, prayer books, pictures of Jesus and prayer mats that can help with praying. They also thought about how they would make themselves still and quiet to pray to God.
Reception RE: Eid.
Reception had their last RE lesson on the topic of "Special Times" and had fun learning about Eid. They took things out of the Chatterbox that were related to Islam such as prayer beads, a prayer mat and prayer hats. They were able to talk about how each thing was used. Then the children who celebrate Eid explained how it was a time to eat and have a party after Ramadan (when they fast from eating, singing and dancing.)
