The children have created a beautiful memorial poppy wreath to commemorate remembrance day. Individual poppy's designed by each pupil were joined together to create one large poppy which we have put at the front of school. A big thank you to Mrs Burgess for arranging this and putting it together. Two minutes silence was held by the whole school at 11:00am this morning to reflect and remember fallen service people.
Six of our children from Years 3 and 6 attended the Remembrance Day service at Darwen Cemetery. They observed 2 minutes silence and laid two beautiful wreaths made by the children at the war grave memorial wall. They also attended the grave of Sam Taylor who gave his life serving his country during the first world war to lay a poppy cross. Thank you to the children involved for representing school at such a poignant service.
Lest we forget.
