Year 2 English - Safari Animal Research
In English we have started our non-fiction writing by researching our chosen animal. We used online books to discover the answers to our question: What are their offspring called? Where do they live? What do they eat? Then we found some interesting extra facts.
Year 3 - Maths - Adding And Subtracting 1s
In maths, Year 3 have been learning to add and subtract 1 from a 3 digit number using the base 10 equipment.
Year 3 - Science - Do Shadows Change During The Day?
In science Year 3 continued to look at light and shadows. Today they found out that shadows are the longest when the sun rises and sets. It is at its shortest at midday.
Year 1 International Day of Prayer
On International Women's Day Of Prayer, Year 1 talked about why we pray. We decided that we prayed to say thank you, to ask for something or to say sorry. The children said some prayers and then coloured in these beautiful crosses.
Year 5 Science - Making a Water Filter
Year 5 are learning about separating mixtures in Science. This week we studied filtration, and learnt about how useful it is - especially on the International Space Station! We made our own water filters, and were amazed at how much mud they filtered from the muddy water!
Year 5 PSHE - Negotiation and Compromise Roleplay
Year 5 had fun in the hall acting out a roleplay aimed at understanding how to negotiate and compromise. Everyone had a go, and we all laughed a lot!
Year 4 Music
We have been working hard on our response to rhythm and beat. We practiced using call and response to tap and move our cups to the beat. It was very challenging - but we worked hard to get it right!
Year 4 Art
This week we looked at 2 different artists - Laura Carlin and Shaun Tan. We created visual notes in our sketchbooks, trying to use their sketching style. We even used biro pens to sketch like Shaun!
Year 4 Fundamentals
This week in our Fundamentals lesson, we worked on our skills of dodging and playing as a team. We had a lot of fun trying to collect each other's bands!
Reception Class - Maths - Sorting Objects By Size
Today in Reception the children have been helping the bears pack their picnic, choosing the correct sizes for the bears.
Nursery - Science - Identifying Body Parts
This week, Nursery class have been learning all about themselves and we have focused on their different body parts. The children have really enjoyed incorporating songs into their learning so we have been listening to 'head, shoulders, knees and toes' to support their understanding. The class used their listening skills and did really well, engaging with the song and listening to the different body parts that they needed to find.
