Reception - RE - Visit To The Church
As part of our unit on Special Places, Reception Class visited our local church. They took time to notice all the special parts in the church such as the cross and coloured windows. We then discussed how people worship God and we had our own worship time using the instruments.
Year 3 Communion In Church
Today, Year 3 pupils participated in a communion service at the church. They offered their own prayers, delivered a reading, and received communion. Following the service, the children enjoyed their lunch together in the church garden.

In Year 3, students have been exploring the diverse perspectives on Easter held by different Christian denominations, with a specific focus on the Catholic and Baptist viewpoints.
Year 3 - Festival Of Purim
In Year 3, students have been discovering Purim, a happy Jewish celebration that remembers how Jewish people in ancient Persia survived a threat to their lives in the 5th century BCE. This story is told in the biblical Book of Esther. They listened to the story and made colourful masks.
Year 4 Easter Performance - Roll Back The Stone
Leading up to the Easter Service in church, Year 4 dedicated the last few weeks to rehearsing their dramatic portrayal of the Roll Back The Stone narrative.

Year 5 R.E. - A Visit From Rev Kev to Discuss how the Church Celebrates Christ's Victory at Easter
Rev Kev visited Year 5 R.E. this week, bringing the story of Easter to life. He shared how the church commemorates Christ's triumph over death and God's Big Plan, guiding students through the seven Stations of the Cross and the powerful experience of the Easter Vigil. He described the anticipation of waiting for sunrise, mirroring the resurrection, and the lighting of the Paschal Candle from the vigil fire. He also explained the significance of the clergy's liturgical colors during the Easter season.
Year 5 Holy Communion Service
Year 5 joined the Communion Service in Church this week. We wrote and spoke our own prayers, which Rev Kevin Colyer described as 'very deep and heartfelt' prayers. Well done Year 5! Tristan did a reading from Hebrews and spoke very well. We all enjoyed the service, and also enjoyed having our lunch at church!
Reception - Class Worship - The Good Samaritan
This week in Class Worship, the children learned about kindess and dignity through the story of The Good Samaritan. The children spoke about the things they would do to show kindness to others.
Reception - Class Worship - Hope
Reception has been learning about the value of hope through the story of Jairus’ daughter. The children discussed some of the things they worry about and shared them with each other. The children love learning about different bible stories with the help of Jack, during our weekly class Worship.
