Year 3 English - Beginning To Write Speech In The Form Of A Playscript
Year 3 students have started writing playscripts, focusing on dialogue. They took the story of "Dum Spiro" and created lines for the characters of Caesar, a Roman soldier, and a Bear.
Year 1 - English - Analysing Vocabulary Used In Poetry
This week, our Year 1 poets became word detectives! We've been diving into some fantastic poems, not just to enjoy them, but to hunt for amazing vocabulary. The children loved discovering new words and talking about what they mean. We explored how different words make us feel and how they paint pictures in our minds. It was so exciting to see their eyes light up as they unlocked the secrets hidden within the lines of poetry!

Nursery - Listening And Attention - What Is My Animal?
During our listening and attention activity the children showed great curiosity towards our mystery animal in the box.The children were given 3 possible animals and were tasked with listening to clues relating to the mystery animal to find the correct match. Each child listened very carefully to to various clues such as ‘my animal can fly’ or ‘my animal likes to jump’, and used those clues to match the characteristics to a specific animal, either by pointing, reaching, or vocalizing the animal's name or sound. While individual children showed varying speeds of processing, the group as a whole successfully narrowed down the choices, often arriving at the correct animal after one or two clues. This activity effectively engaged the group in a shared listening experience, prompting active participation in a problem-solving task.
Year 3 English - Writing An Explanation Text
Year 3 have been continuing their work on explanation texts in English, focusing specifically on seed dispersal. They've successfully incorporated paragraphs and conjunctions into their writing.
Year 6: English - To Use Adjectives to Effectively Describe a Setting.
This week Year 6 are responding to the animation 'The Eye of The Storm'. Today they began by analysing the setting, and writing a highly descriptive setting description using powerful adjectives.

Year 3 English - Acting Out An Explanation Text.
During their English lessons Year 3 have been looking at explanation texts about plants. Today they worked in groups. Each group was given a different paragraph from a text called 'Seeds On The Move' which they then had to act out.
