Year 1 - Science - Matching and Sorting 5 Senses
In Science this week, Year 1 have worked hard to match and sort items with the 5 senses! They had lots of fun identifying items and finding the correct senses card to match! Well done.
Year 1 - Independent Challenges
This week, Year 1 have been amazing doing Independent Challenges! They have worked on their phonics and mark making skills, have been practicing their letter formation with 'z', 'g', and 'l' and have been writing very silly sentences to work on their writing skills! Well done.

Year 1: PE - Jumping and Skipping Skills
Year 1 pupils were outside practicing how to skip and jump. They worked hard on their coordination and balance by learning to turn the rope, find the right rhythm, and jump smoothly. They are building great physical fitness and control!

Year 1: Independent Challenges
Year 1 have been working extremely hard this week in independent challenges. We have been building Sukkahs using lego, practicing our number formation, writing silly sentences, working on greater than, less than and equal to and putting our phonics skills to the test in our phonics matching game!

KS1 Kurling Club
It’s our second week of KS1 Kurling Club, and the children are already showing fantastic progress! They’ve been practising aiming for the target and learning how to control the force they use when pushing the stones. We’ve seen lots of perseverance as they refine their technique and friendship as they cheer each other on and celebrate every good shot. It’s brilliant to see their confidence growing with each session — all great preparation for our competition in December!

Year 1 - RE - Decorating Sukkahs
Year 1 have had lots of fun learning all about Sukkahs! They have decorated their own Sukkahs and discussed what would happen in a Sukkah and why.

Year 1 - DT - Juicing
Year 1 pupils were busy juicing oranges, lemons, and limes! They worked on important physical development skills, including gross motor skills for squeezing and holding the juicers steady, and fine motor skills for twisting the fruit and manipulating the seeds. They also used their hand-eye coordination and following instructions to complete the tasty task!

Year 1 were busy this week developing core skills across different activities. They focused on literacy by creating silly sentences, strengthened their fine motor skills and measurement by building towers with cubes, practiced numeracy by writing number lines, and boosted their geographical awareness by collaborating to build an aerial map of the school. They learned through focused play and exploration!
