In literacy this week our story is HUG. The story is about a monkey that can't find his mum and needs a hug. The children used their skills to create a monkey by painting their hands to print for the monkey body and painting the head to create their monkey.
Painting is a wonderful way to support literacy development in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The connection is primarily through mark making, communication, fine motor skill development, and storytelling.
