Year 5 Skills Builder - Creating an Educational Game
In Year 5 the children have been researching, designing and making an educational board game for younger children. The children had great fun even more so when they could eventually play their games!
Year 1 Courageous Advocacy - Marcus Rashford
Year 1 talked about being brave and how to be brave to 'stick up' for someone else. They learned about the famous footballer Marcus Rashford. Marcus was a courageous advocate for children who do not have enough to eat. He wrote to the Prime Minister on behalf of all the children in the country to ask if they could have free school meals.
Year 1 Skills Builder - Art Gallery
Year 1 enjoyed developing their creative skills on Skills Builder Day. They looked for inspiration from famous artworks of the seaside, cityscapes, the countryside and abstract art. They then created their own mini gallery.
Year 2 Skills Builder
Year 2 learned all about going green in skills builder today. We developed our listening, speaking and problem solving skills. We have fun making our own badges.
Year 2 Courageous Advocacy
Year 2 took part in Courageous Advocacy Day and learned all about justice. Year 2 found out how Jonah helped the people of Nineveh to live fairly by God's rules Then how David showed courage when facing his fears. We then learned all about Rosa Parks.
Nursery - PSED - Understanding Feelings
The children in Nursery class have been exploring facial expressions and feelings this week. During story time we have discussed the different characters and how they might be feeling, some children were also able to give a reason why the pirates were sad. The children were able to group together pictures of sad and happy expressions and displayed these in our emotions area.
Year 6 PGL - Archery
Year 6 are having a fantastic time at PGL, their first activity was archery. We were very impressed with their aiming and shooting skills!
Wake Up Wednesday - Encouraging Healthy Friendships
It’s common for young people to have comparatively less of an understanding of social conventions. While children can benefit from this to some degree – making friends at the drop of a hat – this can also generate a good deal of confusion regarding certain aspects of any relationships that they form.
Pre School- Physical Development- Making Bubbles
The children have been learning how to make their own bubbles. We used water and liquid to make the mixture and then the hoops to make the bubbles. The children loved popping the bubbles with their fingers and watching them bounce up and down in the hoops. We tried to make them blow in the wind but they popped.
Pre School- Music- Rhyme Time
Today the children have enjoyed using the musical instruments to create loud and quiet sounds and singing different nursery rhymes to match the sounds they are making with the musical instruments. The children began by tapping quietly and then changing the sound when we move the instruments faster and louder.
Reception Class - A Visit from Rev Kev!
As part of our Courageous Advocacy Day, Rev Kev came in to visit the Reception to talk about the work he does in the community. He talked about the food bank and helping those around us. The children also enjoyed drawing pictures of Rev Kev doing his work!
Reception Class -David and Goliath - Exploring Courage
As part of our Courageous Advocacy Day, Reception talked about what it takes to be brave and courageous. We learnt that we do not have to be big in order to be brave. By acting out the story of David and Goliath, we learnt that when God is on our side we do not need to be afraid. A little person can make a big difference!
