Year 6 Geography
Year 6 enjoyed a starter activity with inflatable globes in our Geography lesson. We had to throw the globe to each other, and had to name continents and oceans our thumb landed on! It took some thinking to remember lessons from all the way back in Year 2, but we had a lot of fun!
Year 6: Exploring Coding with Microbits
Year 6 have been lucky enough this afternoon to have Rev Kev come along to our class and help us to code the Microbits. We have created thermometers as a class, and then went on to exploring and creating our own coded projects, including 'rock paper scissors', making a rocket fly, making them talk to each other, and making music!
Year 3 English - Developing A Character From A Narrative
Year 3 have been reading the story of 101 Dalmatians during their English lessons. Today they looked at Cruella De Vil and using noun phrases wrote about her character thinking about what she looked like, how she behaved and the effect she had on other characters.
Year 3 Liturgical Board - Courage
Year 3's Liturgical board is linked to the school theme of worship Courage. We talked about what courage is, how we show it and people of courage such as Martin Luther King Jr and Harriet Tubman. We also listened to the story of David and Goliath.

Year 4 Computing - Effective Searching Online
In year 4 this week we have been continuing our topic of using Google (search engine) effectively. We have been finding out if it is true or false that a goldfish has a 3 second memory or that a camel can walk 100 miles without water... Also the truth whether the Great Wall of China is visible from Space!
Year 4 Assessments
Year 4 have worked hard all week on their assessments and we couldn't be more proud of each and every one of them.
Year 1 - Design Technology - Choosing Materials
Year 1 explored different materials that would be suitable for the different parts of their garage. They explored tubes, corrugated card and different sizes of boxes.
Year 1 - Science - Sorting Objects By Material
Year 1 sorting images according to different criteria. Some of us sorted into fabric, plastic or wood. others sorted into waterproof or not waterproof.
Pre School- Physical Development- Fine Motor Skills
This week the children have been busy developing their finger muscles, using the water bottles to spray coloured water on to the floor and paper in the garden. We have used the clear film to create patterns with fine and thick paint brushes and watch the colours mix. The children enjoyed using the sticks to hook the fish out of the water and count how many fish are in the rock pool.
Pre School- Literacy- Mark Making
Pre-School have been practicing their drawing skills, copying different marks and then using what they have learnt to draw an object and talk about what they have created. We had spiders, caterpillars, worms and faces, and the children were very pleased with their work.
